FAQs

Understand and feel safe before choosing Chapters

Who usually travel with Chapters?

Young, curious adults in the ages between 18-30 years old who are ready for a new Chapter.

How long are the trips?

Our Chapters varies on the Chapter you choose to join, but we usually travel throughout the year and for a period of 4-12 weeks (1-3 months).

What is included when travelling with Chapters?

Accommodation throughout all of your Chapter in every country (subject to terms and conditions of the specific Chapter you’re joining).

A European guide will accompany you throughout the whole trip, making sure you are safe and ready to help with questions, guiding and recommendations.

Throughout your Chapter, a number of complimentary activities are included e.g. summiting mountains/volcanoes, visiting the local market or morning walks/run.

Every Chapter has endless opportunities and as a traveller you’ll be part in charge as well, if you want to!

Are we alone on our trip?

No! A European guide will be a part of your journey from A to Z! We want to make sure that everyone feels secure and safe from the first contact with our Chapter team and until the end of your Chapter.

Are Chapters Institute a regular travel agency?

No. We are an institute for cultural intelligence and personal development. While we use travel as our classroom, we are not here to sell you a vacation, a poolside resort, or a sightseeing checklist. We facilitate Dannelsesrejser (Danish word meaning: Formative Journeys).

We don't send you out to see the world; we send you out to understand it-and your place within it.

Where do the Chapters take place?

We operate in carefully selected global locations that offer deep cultural contrast. Places like Indonesia, Australia, South America, or parts of Africa.

What is the primary language on the trips?

English. This is non-negotiable. Even if a group consists entirely of Danes or Italians, the working language is English. This prevents exclusion and ensures we remain in a global, open mindset rather than retreating into our native "safe space."

Speaking a local language excludes others and reinforces the "monoculture" bubble we are trying to break. English ensures inclusivity and keeps everyone in a global mindset. If all participants speak Spanish as their native language, we will be open for accommodating that as the lingua franca.
